Many web designers spend a lot of money on their systems, because they want to have the best tools available to create the best product. They'll get a nice widescreen monitor to go with their workstation to see the work that they're doing, they'll get the fastest processor available in order to process images and graphics with speed, and they'll get a top-of-the-line printer to provide quality printed images of the work that they do.

The funny thing is that web designers (like anyone else) will cheap out on the printing, because of the crazy costs of printer ink.

Now they wouldn't need to hold out on the printing output if they could get ink cartridges at an affordable price, instead of paying the full price for name-brand ink cartridges and ink toner. But, oh wait, there are other solutions. Instead of paying full price for expensive ink, they could be buying recycled cartridges or discount ink cartridges (compatible third party products).

Now if ink costs weren't a consideration, don't you think that those same printers would be working for a living instead of gathering dust and looking pretty on the edge of the workstation? I do.
